Celebration Arts is a nonprofit bringing performing arts training and opportunities to underserved communities, especially African American residents in the Sacramento area.
2026 SEASON
For the 2026 season, I created artwork for a Jazz Series honoring the 100th birthdays of Miles Davis and John Coltrane. I not only created the illustrations for the season but also the art direction and graphic design. The season’s theme, “Homecoming,” celebrated the theater’s 40th anniversary. For the four play posters, I drew on an 80s-inspired aesthetic to reflect the theater’s founding year of 1986, while incorporating modern design elements and staying true to the brand’s colors and overall look and feel.
2025 SEASON
In 2025, I had the pleasure of illustrating and designing the artwork for the “Family Affair” season, collaborating closely with Celebration Arts' artistic director throughout the process. I started with a vibrant family portrait featuring characters from all six plays, then created individual artwork for each production. Working with their rich color palette, I combined illustration and design to craft visuals that were cohesive, lively, and celebrated the artists and stories at the heart of the season.
